The Lion Safari ME [Elite] Kit is one of the biggest solar generator kits ever made. With it's 5,018wH of total lithium battery and 2,000W pure sine inverter, the Safari ME can run pretty much anything you throw at it. The 4,000 watt surge on the inverter also means it can handle high wattage appliances such as an A/C unit, coffee maker, and many large power tools. The base generator unit has a 922 watt hour lithium battery and the lithium expansion batteries (2 of them included with your order) adds 2,048wH of battery storage each giving you a total of 5,018 watt hours of lithium battery storage. Note: Only 1 expansion battery can be connected at a time. You will need to manually switch them out.

The Lion Safari ME has 585 watts of solar input, meaning you can recharge the base battery in 1-2 hours with the 6 x 100w solar suitcases included with your order and charge the base unit + each expansion battery in 3-4 hours from 0%.

  • Battery

    The LiFePO4 battery acts as a virtual storage, securely conserving electricity derived from solar panels for future use. Connecting batteries in a parallel or series circuit is an easy way to increase the overall voltage and capacity of your power source. When wiring them together, it's important to know that you need separate configurations for each connection; connect two positive terminals if you're operating in parallel mode, while connecting one negative terminal with another positive if working with a series setup. No matter which route fits best for your project needs, utilizing this device hook-up can expand both capacity and potential.

  • Inverter

    Connect the inverter to your electrical panel: Once the batteries are connected to the inverter, you can connect the inverter to your electrical panel using the appropriate wiring. This will allow you to use the stored electricity from the batteries to power your electrical devices. The solar inverter ensures efficient electricity management by transforming AC current from traditional sources like a grid or generator into DC power to charge lithium iron phosphate batteries. Renewable energy is also converted back into AC form that can then be used to operate home appliances.

  • DC Circuit Breaker Box

    The DC circuit breaker box safeguards against overcurrents, ground faults and electrical surges. Within it resides the all-important DC breakers for both inverter charger and lithium iron phosphate batteries; alongside a GFCI to snap circuits in case of illogical grounding scenarios or sudden voltage spikes from outside sources. Keeping your power flow under constant control!

  • AC Distribution Panel-

    The AC distribution panel acts as a critical junction between the solar inverter charger, grid or generator and each branch circuit. It ensures that individual circuits can be easily disconnected in cases of maintenance or if an overcurrent issue arises. It's acts as your electricity control center, providing power from solar charged batteries to keep your lights on and appliances running; or if needed the generator powered backup. It also includes breakers for individual circuit disconnection in case of an emergency.

  • Charge Controller

    Wire the charge controller to the batteries: Once the solar panels are connected to the charge controller, you can wire the charge controller to the batteries by connecting the positive and negative terminals of the battery bank to the corresponding terminals on the charge controller.

  • Solar Panels

    Installing a solar panel mounting system is the key to securing your panels and allowing them to tilt and rotate according to the sun's movements. After determining what type of mounting system works best for your location, you can then attach your solar panels with appropriate hardware. To complete this setup process, wiring up the charge controller requires connecting positive/negative terminals of both components together - ensuring an efficient flow of electricity from panels into batteries.

How big is the kit once it's assembled? How much space will I need?

Each Kit is around 10m2 so you'll need a space like a garage or spare room. Installing solar panels requires a little bit of extra preparation. It's best to find an area in your home - like a garage corner or spare room - that can accommodate all the equipment while it waits to be installed. Each panel will come individually boxed and protected, so you'll have the freedom of leaving them inside or outside until they're ready for use.

Do I need to keep the batteries inside or outside?

Lithium batteries thrive in environments similar to humans, as they prefer moderate temperatures. To ensure optimal performance and longevity it's important that you avoid storing them in extremely hot or cold areas such as a garage with extreme temperature fluctuations throughout the day; basements are generally an ideal place for lithium batteries since these spaces maintain steadier temps between 60F-90F degrees Fahrenheit. A battery can still be utilized when below 32° F but should not require charging until above 32° F.

Do I need to buy anything extra?

Our kits provide the essentials for your installation needs, but don't forget to stock up on those extra items from the hardware store like special tools, ground rods and wire. Also grab some UniStrut if putting in solar panels is part of your plan. You'll have all you need with our complete kit set-up.

How long does it take to receive my kit?

If you're based in the US, we strive to deliver your order within 7-15 business days.
